No One Is a Prophet Except Muhammad (ﷺ).
All others — no matter how learned or revered — must be listened to with humility, and judged by the criterion that Allah Himself, has revealed: the Qur’an.
The Qur’an is not just a sacred text; it is the divine standard by which all thought, speech, and guidance must be weighed. Allah has given it three defining titles — each one a lens through which we understand its singular authority:
-
Furqān — The Criterion: the decisive measure that separates truth from falsehood. (See the opening verse of Surah Al-Furqan)
-
Mīzān — The Balance: the scale upon which all claims can be weighed for their truthfulness.
-
Muhaimin — The Guardian: the protector and overseer of true religious understanding, standing above all other sources — be they the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospels, Hadith, Fiqh, or any interpretive tradition.
In this light, Mr. Javed Ahmad Ghamidi is to be seen for what he professes to be: a student of Islam. He wears no titles — no Maulana, Dr., Mufti, or Allama. And rightly so. For the truest mark of a seeker is not the weight of honorifics, but the humility of inquiry.
So yes — listen to everyone. For wisdom may speak in many voices. But agree or disagree only by referring to the Qur’an’s verdict — the Furqān, the Mīzān, the Muhaimin.
Let no voice, however eloquent, outweigh the Word of God.
