Hardliners
in religion thrive on blindly following the narrative they are fed with. That
is why their narrative is coated with high emotions. That is also why their
presentation is high on rhetoric and replete with emotions.
God on the other hand presents His signs. Sign (of God) means the point of consideration (as in matters of faith) may not be visible to the naked eye but it can be deciphered through one’s intellectual prowess and ability. That is the reason, the Qur’an throughout its discourse addresses people who are willing to employ their intellects in reading the signs of God.
Through the Qur’an, it appears God has no time for emotional allegiance towards reading His signs and adhering to His narrative. If we open the Qur’an randomly we shall observe that whenever God ends His line of arguments at all times He does so for people of reasoning:
عقل والے، تدبر کرنے والے، غور و فکر کرنے والے، دانش مند لوگ، بصیرت رکھنے والے، سننے والے وغیرہ۔۔۔
God has an affinity for travellers in the quest for truth irrespective of the individual's mental capability and IQ. The Qur’an testifies to God’s approach. People with the above attributes (in Urdu) carry a different facial lineament.
