Earlier in the day I visited Nankana Sahib off Sheikhupura.
Nankana Sahib is the holiest place for Sikhs around the world. It holds sanctity as Makkah does for Muslims.
I was most perturbed and disturbed to see a local mosque less than maybe 50 yards from the entrance of the Sikh holiest place. The disturbing aspect was the Minaret of this particular mosque was towering over the Sikh Gurdwara.
The mosque minaret also had no less than 8 loudspeakers for the Muslim call for prayer - the Azan. 8 loudspeakers mean 4 in the usual North South East West and the other 4 in North West, South West, North East, and South East directions!
All of God's religions teach one main principle. In fact, humanity has the universal message of tolerance and respect for other religions. Basically tolerance towards fellow human beings. More so the Holy Divine Book of God - the Qur'an explicitly states tolerance towards others.
Let me make a point here. During the times of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) a mosque by the name of Zarar was made to demolish as its soil was being used by hypocrites against Muslims to create unrest and mischief. The mosque was demolished. This sends a clear message for all times to come! Mosques may be demolished by the Government if deemed to spread mischief or used to demean other religions.
The sight of the overbearing and overwhelming minaret of the mosque near the sacred Sikh temple made me very sad as a Muslim!
